Christmas and Easter provide an wonderful opportunity to celebrate our faith in the God who lived and died on this earth.
Carol services are held in both St.Mary's and The Centre in the lead up to Christmas. We also host local schools as they celebrate the season.
The Christingle service is an event enjoyed by all ages as the candles are lit.
The Christingle is made up of a lighted candle(symbolising Jesus, the Light of the World), mounted on an orange(representing the world), and a red ribbon or tape around the middle of the orange (indicating the blood/ love of Christ). Four cocktail sticks bearing dried fruit or sweets are also stuck into the orang (signifying the four seasons and the fruits of the earth).
Christmas Eve and Day
Our midnight Holy Communion starts at 11.30pm.
Christmas Day follows the usual Sunday pattern of 9.00am (Holy Communion), 10.30am at The Centre and 11.00am. There is no evening service.
Both St.Mary's and The Centre hold Good Friday services as well as a Maundy Thursdsay evening service at St.Mary's. Easter Day is a great celebration of our faith. More specific details can be found on the Calendar page.
