Lucy Winkett, "Scripture is brought to life."
"I have long found it stimulating to encounter scripture
not so much as a collection of printed words bound together in a volume,
but to imagine it in Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, Latin or English
as a soundscape of poems prophecies, stories and exhortations,
laughed over and cried over down the centuries.
It is brought to life when it is
read out loud, proclaimed, signed, talked about, discussed,
listened to, communicated, translated.
If we think of Scripture solely as printed words bound in a book,
we have tried to capture and flatten it."
