At St Mary’s we care passionately about creation care. We believe that God made the beautiful world that we live in and He made us, humankind, in His image to care for it. Creation Care is about acknowledging the gift of creation and our role in caring for it. On this page you’ll find information and resources we’ve put together to help us all appreciate and care for creation as best we can.

Members of our Eco Group have put together a Map and Guide of the trees in our Parish Church grounds. Eco Encouragements
St Mary’s Eco Group produce regular Eco Encouragements to give us ideas and inspiration to better appreciate, enjoy and care for God’s creation. You’ll find our recent Eco Encouragements by clicking the button below, they’re also regularly posted on our Facebook page.
Eco Church Awards
As part of our committment to Creation Care, St Mary’s has secured an Eco Church Award, a recognition offered by A Rocha, the international conservation charity. In 2019 we were delighted to celebrate receiving the Silver Eco Church Award which was presented to us by Bishop Keith Sinclair.
We continue to work towards further improving our environmental impact on the earth including ensuring our power in Church buildings comes from renewable sources, that we are teaching and learning about Creation Care in our services and as Small Groups and that we are reducing waste as much as possible.

We’ve put togther an A to Z of Living Lightly as part of our committment to Creation Care. It gives ideas of how you can commit to Living Lightly and making a positive impact on the earth.
