Sunday Groups for Children and Young People

Sunday Groups for children and young people run alongside the 10:30am service at St Mary’s Parish Church (except for the first Sunday of the month, which is an All Age Service), and there are children’s activities available at the Centre. Each group helps children to explore the Bible in a way that is suitable for their age in an engaging and relevant way to enable them to develop and own a faith of their own.

Our Sunday Groups run for the following age groups:

Seed and Grow: Pre-school, aged 0-4
Jesus and Me: Reception – School Year 3
Explorers: School Years 4 to 6
Pathfinders: School Years 7 to 8
(sometimes our Explorers & Pathfinders groups meet together)

CYFA: School Years 9 to 13, meets on Sunday evenings
in the Bank from 7:30 til 9pm

If you have any questions, send us an email to cyp@stm-upton.org.uk.

Seed and Grow Sunday Group Logo

In Seed & Grow our pre-school children have loads of fun learning from the Bible through play. Sessions include a Bible story, music, a craft and familiar songs. Currently it’s a requirement to have a grown-up with you for these sessions.

JAM Sunday Group Logo

JAM is the place for those in reception to year 3; it’s a nurturing environment with the aim to introduce children to faith. We do this through games, craft, Bible stories and prayer.

Explorers Sunday Group Logo

Explorers is for children year 4 – year 6. Together we look at faith and the Bible, and the children are given lots of opportunities to ask questions whilst they explore faith in a fun way with friends and supportive leaders.

Pathfinders Sunday Group Logo

Our Pathfinders group is for young people from year 7 to year 8. We look at faith and the Bible. It is a chance to ask those important questions whilst exploring faith in a fun way with friends and supportive leaders. Pathfinders happens in The Bank on Sunday Mornings.

CYFA Sunday Group Logo

CYFA is for young people in year 9 through to Sixth Form. We look at faith, the Bible and focusing on issues important to our teenagers. It is a great chance to meet friends, ask questions and explore the Christian faith. We meet in the Bank on Sunday evenings from 7:30 til 9pm.

We also have midweek Bible Study at the Bank on Wednesdays after Drop-In from 5:30 to 6:30pm where we think more deeply about what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

On the first Sunday of every month we have our All Age Service at 10:30am – there’s lively songs, a bible story from the Wild Woman of Wales, a talk and some fun and games! Find out more on the All Age Service page.

In our All Age Service we love singing some great lively songs! We’ve put together a YouTube playlist of all the songs we’ve sung in the All Age Service over the last few months. You can find it here, and we’ll be adding to it each month!
