Seasons
Christmas and Easter provide an wonderful opportunity to celebrate our faith in the God who lived and died on this earth.
Christmas
Carol Services
Carol Services are held in both St Mary’s Parish Church and The Centre in the lead up to Christmas. We also host local schools as they celebrate Advent.
Christingle
The Christingle Service is an event enjoyed by all ages as the candles are lit. The Christingle is made up of a lighted candle (symbolising Jesus; the Light of the World), mounted on an orange (representing the world), and a red ribbon or tape around the middle of the orange (indicating the blood or love of Christ). Four cocktail sticks bearing dried fruit or sweets are also stuck into the orange (signifying the four seasons and the fruits of the earth).
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Our midnight Holy Communion starts at 11.30pm on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day includes Holy Communion at 8:45am at the Parish church, Holy communion at 11am at the Centre. There is a Christmas Celebration service for all ages at 10:30am in the Parish Church. There is no evening service.
Easter
Both St Mary’s Parish Church and The Centre hold Good Friday services. There is a Maundy Thursday evening service at the Parish Church. Easter Day is a great celebration of our faith with services at the Parish Church and at The Centre to celebrate Resurrection Day.
Sundays at 7
On the first Sunday of most months we hold an in depth interview with a Christian who has a story to tell about how God has been at work in their life.
There is often a moment to enjoy some music before and during the presentation.
Sundays at Seven starts with refreshments at 6.30pm, followed by the main interview at 7pm.
The evening usually concludes by 8.15pm.
